Blue Noise Band Brad Green From Queens
| Brad Green from Queens is still sitting on a car somewhere drinking a beer and wondering why such an amazing record was named after him. This sophomore effort from the Blue Noise Band shows more growth than most bands experience in their entire career. The solid and smooth sound of jazz brings you into a world of power rock, klezmer, techno, blues and grooves that make you wonder how such moments could even be captured in a live studio session. The full tambres of sax, guitar, bass, drums, various horns and cello along with the talent of these players supports the strength of the song writing. Sometimes serious but not for long, this record is a must for any one who even remotely believes themselves to have eclectic taste. Blue Noise Band was Voted #1 Band in Austin by City Search Best of Poll. |

Blue Noise Band Multi-Purpose
| Blue Noise Band was Voted #1 Band in Austin by City Search Best of Poll. Since 1997, the Blue Noise Band has been playing their ever-evolving brand of jazz-plus around Austin, Texas, setting up camp everywhere from hipster jazz joints to punk dives. 'Multi-Purpose' finds the Blue Noise Band playing live in the studio, augmented on several tracks by an impressive cast of Austin music luminaries, including Graham Reynolds of the Golden Arm Trio on organ, violinist Govinda, and saxophonist Paul Klemperer. From the Cubano-Slavic rave-up of "Ricky Ricardo's Balkan Dance Party" to the neck-snapping stylistic slalom course "Cookies," 'Multi-Purpose' treads a fine line between compositional rigor and improvisational madness, capturing the Blue Noise Band at their total manic finest. "Just when you think they're about to pitch woo in the direction of the brunch crowd, this avant-jazz quartet throws in some heinous kink that's guaranteed to send migas down the wrong pipe." - The Austin Chronicle |
